Research Brief

My Intention is to research in to the story of Dead Sea Scrolls believed to be the oldest and the largest surviving collection of manuscripts found in the 1st century A.D. The collection includes some 800 scrolls of Jewish writings which were stored in clay jars in the caves of Qumran located in North-western Shore of the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947 written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, housed in the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem. My research will be on the following:
- Discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls
- Authors of the manuscript and their background
- The construction of the scroll
-Information on caves 1to 11
- The digitisation of the Dead Sea scrolls
I am hoping to post some interesting information of these 2000 year old famous manuscripts in the coming weeks.
